Animals

Post 8: Animals

I use to have a pet when I was a child. I had many dogs in my parent’s house. But after I stopped having dogs, because I went to live to an apartment, so there it’s more difficult to have a pet. Anyway I like dogs more than cats, because cats are very stinking.

Now, I don’t have a pet and in the future neither, because I don’t have time to take care of.
I feel animals not should be used for experiments in medical research because animals must be in their own environment and I they must be free.

I have never been bitten by a dog but once a neighbors’ dog almost bites me in the street when I was ridden my bike.

According to the Chinese Zodiac I am a rat, I don’t know what that means, but people talked to me about this, and they said that rats are very smart.

Friends

Post 7: Friends

I learned in life that is very important to have friends, no matter how many they are, I think is the quality of the friendship what’s the matter.

A good friend should have important values like honesty, compromise and solidarity to be with you in difficult moments. Because is very important to share experiences, but especially I think values is more important.

I value in a friend the compromise, honesty and others things. For that reason the qualities of a friend must be very important.

I consider me a good friend because I still keep in touch with old friends since I was a child. But I think I should be more expressive and visit more frequently to my friends.
I don’t make friends very easy maybe because I’m quiet. In the internet I tried to make friends but doesn’t work.

My closest friend is Renato, he is a sociologist just like me, and we studied together in the university, so we have many funnies experiences to share with people. He is a musician too and play in a band.

Finally, I can say I keep in touch with my childhood and high school friends.

My Best Place

Post 4: My best place

One of my favorite places in Santiago is Bellas Artes. This neighborhood is located very close of the center of Santiago, between Cardenal José María Caro street by the north, Santa Lucía or Huelen Hill by the south, Purísima bridge by west side and mac-iver street by the east side.

Is very easy to getting there, one option is get down in the Bellas Artes subway station, other option by bus.

This neighborhood is part of the traditional and historical foundation of Santiago. There are historical buildings like the house of partido radical social demócrata, the national library of Chile, and the most representative building and very important for the arts the Chilean National Museum of Fine Arts (MNBA) situated in the Parque Forestal, behind it is located the Museum of Contemporary Art of the University of Chile.

Bellas Artes is full of restaurants and bars like “The Clinic”, coffees like Mosqueto. By the way, this place is also known as the coffee neighborhood. So you can go alone or with friends and have a nice coffee or beer.

If you walk by their streets you can find different monuments and statues like Neptune and Anfititre. Also, you can go for a walk, run or ride in bicycle in the Parque Forestal, I recommend sundays because the street are closed for cars but open to run and bike, also in the afternoon the Parque Forestal is full of activities, like street shows, theater is very funny.

As you can see there are many activities and places to visit here, personally I like to walk and visit the museums regularly, so I recommended 100% percent, especially for tourist who wants to know one of the most representative culture of our society.

The best Holidays/Concert i've been to

Post 3: The best holidays

I remember that a couple of years ago, my girlfriend and I went to the south of Chile for the holidays. We went to a national reserve of the National Forestry Corporation most know it like Conaf, located in Radal, in a place called “The seven cups” (“Las siete tazas”).

We had never been in this place before, we camp in this park for more than a week during the summer of 2012. We carry an inflatable mattress for comfortable sleep, a medium sized tent, sleeping bags, and other things for camping like a stove.

We tried to woke up early in the morning for walk and meet around the park, we realize quickly that there was many beautiful places. There is a river we visiting frequently, ancient trees, water fall like “El velo de la Novia” y el “Salto de la Leona” and friendly people.

One of those days we met a couple who travel with his little son, we show them the river and we had a good time. Also, we befriended with the park chief and we had a discount.

We walked by a native path around a hill high rise, which was a great experience because in the peak we could see the entire valley many kilometers of distance.

These holidays were memorable.

In the future I would like to know more of the south of Chile like “Torres del Paine” because I heard very good references of that place.
